"Dear Palm One Management,
we are members of the biggest German Palm Forum, and many of us appreciate the new T3 and its excellent features. We have been patient after hearing news about a major SD-card problem, even when more and more T3 users got bad sector-errors and completely fried SD-cards with their devices, all hoping for a fast solution by Palm. Now more than one month is gone since Palm knows about the problem, and we do no longer accept the way your company is dealing with it.
1. Until today, we find no proper warning against using *any* SD-cards with the T3 (until the problem is solved) on Palm support pages. Instead any look at these pages proves the fact that you are trying to ignore the problem completely. This means that you were and still are guilty for causing a lot of damage already done and still occuring, which could easily be avoided if you acted as a responsible manufacturer.
For the case you are fearing juridical consequences, you could easily avoid them by stating that using the T3 with many SD-cards leads to problems, without stating to which degree you and/or SD-card manufactureres are responsible for these problems. Anyway users know that no other PDA device in use (with the exception of the Dell Axim coming remotely close) shows as much problems using SD-cards as many T3s.
2. You get more and more information about T3s and SD cards affected. We find no proper list of them, neither ofT3s (as far as you have the information: with serials), nor of SD-cards (as far as you have the information from complaining users) with manufacturer, size and serial number or date of production information. In short: you do *nothing* to help your custumers by keeping them informed on the same level of information which you have.
3. Using SD-cards with a device is a major feature of using the T3 device. Even with a device like this with its well-sized RAM the SD-Cards are definitely necessary for a proper use of the T3, concerning elementary issues like card backup, big size information (from documents to lexica) and multimedia use (from pictures to MP3s). Having to use a T3 which damages SD cards is about as annoying as having to use a new car without working brakes. For this reason the only information you gave (and even that only in return to email protests), namely "we are working on the problem", from our point of view comes much too late and is much too little.
Therefore after 4-5 weeks of desaster with a major T3 feature we think you *owe* us a solution *within* *very* *short* *time*!!! We regard it absolutely not acceptable to wait for such a removal of a major fault from the very developers of the device for more than 5 weeks!
We will keep as many Forums (Palm and other PDA) and the press informed about our protest and your sad lack of resonsibility if we don't get an acceptable reaction from you within one week.
